We are very pleased to of launched our gaming clubs for both the xbox and ps4. We are trying to build up a community of visually impaired gamers from all over the UK. We will be streaming content on Twitch and YouTube. More info can be found on our Online Gaming Clubs Page.

19 March 2020. RNIB Reading Service.

Hello all. How is everyone holding up today. Have you tried the new RNIB READING SERVICE. It is free for anyone to use with a visual impairment. You can access the audio books from them by using the Dolphin Computer Access Easy Reader App. This can be downloaded from your app store. It can take a bit to set it up but once done is very easy to use.

16 March 2020. Covid 19 update.

Today we have taken the precociously measure to suspend all our face to face services to help in the effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 and its spread. This includes all our clubs, groups, outreach services, office tuition and home visits. We feel that giving the worrying situation it is not worth taking any risks. We have setup a tech helpline that can be called during normal working hours 07494 706190 and one of our tech experts will be able to answer your questions.

This afternoon we are over at the amazing DeafBlind Scotland centre in Kirkintilloch for the Digital Cafe. We are looking forward to seeing everybody there.

We are very happy to have our first drop in today in our office. You can simply pop along to our office with any tech and get expert tuition and our tech experts can fix most things that are not working.

On Wednesday we had a amazing time over at the Mitchell Library with our tech talk on Android devices then it was over to our office for Cake Coffee and Chat. We had the team from Ramble Tag pop in and show us this great alternative aid to help guide some one with a visual impairment.

We are extremely happy and proud of our tech expert Fraser who won the COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION OF THE YEAR award at the RNIB See Differently Awards yesterday. The other nominees were exceptional and are doing some fantastic work. A square trophy all black with the award notation and Fraser name. There is braille on the top of the award.

Its the last week of the month and that means we have several clubs that everyone is invited to cone along to. On Wednesday morning we are in the Mitchell Library with a talk on voice activated technology. After that its back to our office for some Cake Coffee and Chat. Then on Thursday we are in Bellshill in the Bellshill Cultural Centre with tech and chat. Friday its the Tech Club back in our Office and to finish the week off we have the Accessible Games Club on Saturday from our office. We would love to see everyone there. Triple Tap Tech at The Mitchell Library, Glasgow

RUVI and TTT are teaming up to bring you Technology Drop-in Wednesdays, in the Fairfield Room of the Mitchell Library, from 10.30 to 12.00 on the Last Wednesday of each month.

The TTT guys have an Aladdin’s cave of useful kit that can help all of us get to grips with the Digital Life! From smart speakers to the latest in Apple and Android phones and tablets, there’s something for everyone. Whether you are Vision impaired, hearing impaired or an older person who struggles with technology, we can help and advise.

Our first drop-in morning will be on Wednesday 28 August. The theme is “Voice Activated” devices. Alexa and Google smart speakers and the In Your Pocket smart phone are a few of the items being demonstrated. Drop in and have an actual “Play” with these devices. 01 March 2019. Orcam event.

On Thursday we had our good friends from OrCam in our office to demonstrate the OrCam MyEye device and the companion app that has just been released. The OrCam device is a camera that sits on the side of your glasses and is able to read text back to you from books, screens, menus and other items. It also has the ability to recognise peoples faces, bar codes and even products. We find it a very useful device. For more information contact us.

The first Cake, Coffee and Chat got underway last Wednesday afternoon. We were not short of conversation and cake. In fact we are still eating it in the office this morning. We have been very busy over the last few weeks. We are talking tech with our good friends at the Scottish War Blinded in there amazing Hawkhead centre. We will be there over the next 3 weeks. We presented voice activated technology to the ROAR Group in the Paisley Disability Resources Centre. We also enjoyed talking about how accessible the iPad with staff from a local primary school. Lastly we were at The Dolphin tech event doing what we do best talking tech. We also done the usual sessions from our office and many home visits. Our info stall at the Dolphin tech Event.

Last Friday we held an info stall at Intu Braehead. We spent the full day talking about sight loss and how technology has a important part to play in keeping independent. We would like to thank the centre and everyone who said hi and made a donation. Together you helped us raise a fantastic £382. This will go a long way to help us provide our service.
